Paulo Gago was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1982. A self-taught artist, he drew inspiration to paint his impressions of city life, portraits, the human figure and natural landscapes – predominantly seascapes – and considers himself a versatile artist. “Having no path as a path, having no limitation as a limitation”. He began exhibiting in 2016 and has since seen his work grow in prominence and value within the art scene; he is currently represented by galleries in the Algarve, Lisbon and Barcelona.

He has held exhibitions at “Never Ending Summer 2022” at Albufeira Marina, at ArtCafé/Galeria PaSSage in Ayamonte, Spain, at Galeria KarinaMuller in Ayamonte, Spain, and at Galerie Valerie Peter in Bordeaux, France. He has taken part in several group exhibitions, notably: “Facetas Creativas 2024” at the Casa Grande Manuel Rivero González Cultural Centre in Ayamonte, and “Art Exhibition & Just Art 2025” at the CODAC Centre in collaboration with ANAFA, in Gibraleón, Huelva, Spain.
