Paulo Côrte-Real

Born into a family of photographers, where photography was always the central subject, Paulo Corte-Real started taking photographs at the age of 12, taught by his father and siblings. He holds a degree in Design from IADE and a postgraduate qualification in Museology from the University of Évora. He is a visual arts teacher, photographer and photography instructor. He is also a certified teacher of transcendental meditation (TM), national coordinator for the implementation of TM in schools, and a teacher of Chinese internal arts (Chi Kung and Tai Chi Chuan).

He has held several solo exhibitions, including “Face a Face” (2012), “Em Tuas Mãos” (2014), “Cactus” (2014) and “Homens entre a Terra e o Mar” (2017). He has also taken part in various group exhibitions and publications, notably “Dias de Fé” (2015), “In Vitae Ecclisiae” (2014/15), “Sul, Sol e Sal” (2015), “Modelos por um dia” (2016/17/18), “Marrocos, País de Encantos” (2016), “Marrocos, País de Encantos – Rumo a Sul” (2017), “Lá pela Serra” (2017), “Marrocos – Cidades Imperiais” (2018), “Mare Nostrum” (2018), “Conta-me a Tua História” (2018), “Created in Faro” (2023) and “Vida na Praia” (2024).

He was president of ALFA – Associação Livre de Fotógrafos do Algarve for the 2016-2018 three-year term.
